Vehicular crash kills Lemery village chief

ILOILO City – The motorcycle he was riding crashed against a multicab in Barangay Pontok, Lemery, Iloilo.

The 68-year-old Pontok village chief Nelson Parcia died of head injuries at the Sara District Hospital, a police report showed.

Monday afternoon’s crash involved the 67-year-old Barangay Ungka 2, Pavia, Iloilo resident Victorico Selguera, the driver of the multicab.

According to police investigation, Parcia took a left turn and bumped into the multicab around 2 p.m. on Jan. 14.

Selguera told the cops that Parcia did not signal he will be taking a left turn.

But the multicab driver was detained in the lockup facility of the Lemery municipal police station, charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide./PN
