Vibrant Iloilo Scholastic Academy celebrates 15th anniversary today

ONE OF the premier Chinese-Filipino  schools in the region, Iloilo Scholastic Academy (ISA) celebrates 15 years of “virtue and excellence” today by holding a grand cultural show at the Iloilo Convention Center.

With the theme “The ISA way: Yesterday, today, and beyond” the event commemorates yet another historic milestone for the respected educational institution, as its talented students showcase the best they have to offer to an audience of prominent figures in Iloilo’s Chinese-Filipino community, local government officials, and friends and family of ISA.

“This is a collective achievement – ISA’s 15 years of success and prosperity,” ISA executive director Peter Chan told Panay News. “In large part, we attribute all our accomplishments to our students, parents, faculty, and the generosity of our Board of Directors, stakeholders, and investors. Without all your support, ISA wouldn’t be where it is today.”

Expected to grace the event are Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Cebu Jia Li and Consular Attache Jiang Wen, as well as officials of the Department of Education and the Iloilo City government.

Since its inception, ISA has become one of the foremost Chinese-Filipino schools, even ranking first in the last National Achievement Test among private schools in Iloilo City.

ISA was founded 15 years ago by a group of prominent Ilonggo businessmen – among them Alfonso Tan, Vicente Tiu, Venido Peña, Emil Diez, Juliet Go, Lily Uy, and a handful  others – seeking to have a school committed to impress in a new generation the wholesome and dynamic Filipino and Chinese cultures.

Since its inception, ISA has become one of the foremost Chinese-Filipino  schools, even ranking first in average score in the last National Achievement Test (NAT) among the forty-two private high schools in Iloilo City./PN
