VICE Ganda confirmed on Wednesday that he was hospitalized after a three-day absence from “It’s Showtime,” the noontime program he co-hosts.
The comedy superstar had said as early as Saturday, during the live telecast of “It’s Showtime,” that he felt ill but had to attend to his scheduled appearances, among them the first live episode of “Search for the Idol Philippines” later that night.
Vice Ganda was again seen during the live Sunday episode of the singing competition, but was no longer able to co-host “It’s Showtime” starting Monday.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the “Fantastica” star updated his followers about his condition.
“Thank you very much to all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of The Medical City for taking good care of me for three days. Ang babait at ang aliwalas n’yo. God bless you guys! Uwian na!” he wrote.
Ion Perez, the rumored boyfriend of Vice Ganda, meanwhile, shared a photo on Instagram of him with “It’s Showtime” co-host Ryan Bang inside what appears to be a hospital room.
Bang is a known close friend of Vice Ganda, whom the South Korean considers and calls his “mommy.”
The timing of Perez’s post, in light of Vice Ganda’s absence, sparked speculation that he was at the comedian’s bedside during his recovery. (ABS-CBN News)
