“I NEVER imagined this journey would end this way but maybe it’s time to dream a new dream.”
These were the words of Vickie Rushton as she announced that she is saying goodbye to the pageant scene.
On her Instagram page on Friday, Vickie spoke up about her withdrawal from the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 pageant reportedly due to age qualifications in the different international pageants under the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated.
The Binibining Pilipinas pageant was repeatedly postponed because of the pandemic.
“As much as I don’t want to, I need to close this chapter in my life,” she said.
The beauty queen opened up that she still got emotional about how things transpired for her.
“I thought I was okay but today I realized that I might not be as okay as I thought I was. It finally sunk in that I am no longer part of it,” she said.
She added, “Today, I found myself crying because I am still not ready to let go of this dream but I know I have to and I know God has better plans.”
The Binibining Pilipinas pageant will happen on July 11. The pageant will be hosted by Catriona Gray and Nicole Cordoves.(Push)
