BACOLOD City – To promote health, wellness, and camaraderie among Victoriasanons, the Victorias City Government in Negros Occidental held the first ever Midnight Victory Run on Thursday, March 20.
The midnight race that gathered over 400 runners from the city and localities was an exhilarating addition to the annual Kadalag-an Festival 2025 activities, as the city marked its 27th Charter Anniversary.
Participants competed in four race categories — 3KM men and women and 5KM men and women — pushing their limits in an electrifying display of endurance, with the top five finishers in each category being recognized and awarded.
Adding to the excitement, participants also had the chance to win prizes in a raffle, where gift certificates, T-shirts, mugs, and other giveaways were distributed.
The event, led by Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, was a testament to Victorias City’s commitment to fostering a healthy and engaged community, setting the stage for more inclusive and dynamic festival activities in the years to come, said City Tourism Officer Mariane Rica Calseña and Race Director Angelito Santillan.
The night culminated with a Grand Salubong Fireworks Display, a breathtaking spectacle that lit up the Victorias City Public Plaza skyline for over 10 minutes, officially welcoming the city’s 27th Charter Anniversary./PN
