Gender identity difficulty

THERE are times when to stand, to speak and to act in deference to reality and truth, in promotion of justice and harmony, constitute not merely an advisory but a downright mandate on the part of the people in general – in the spirit of fairness and righteousness.
This is precisely the case when those already afflicted with Gender Identity Difficulty (GID) are still ridiculed and looked down upon, discriminated and despised even. No. This is not in anyway meant to heap praises upon them, to put them in pedestals, to declare them saintly or holy. This is simply saying that GID does not make someone a lesser person, an inferior human being.
In other words, it is neither fair nor proper when people laugh at if not even despise individuals with GID – something the latter did not choose to have, much less rejoice and celebrate for having it.
Those with GID may commit mistakes but who does not? They may engage in improper acts every now and then, but who does not? They may indulge in errant behavior here and there but who does not?
In other words, just because certain individuals are burdened by GIDdoes not necessarily make men and women without it better persons, better people. This in no way is meant to extend preferential treatment to those with the Difficulty but simply pleading for a fair dealing towards their persons – even but simply in the spirit of the saying that “All men are created equal,” i.e., all men and all women with or without GID. So it is that:
Irrespective of whether GID afflicts a man or a woman, the truth is that both of them are labouring under some kind of a sexual perplexity.
The Difficulty makes someone not only confused but also pained how come though a man, he is attracted to another man – the same with a woman.
It is not but a joke when somebody is considered not simply peculiar but even downright abnormal simply for having GID.
The fact that someone has GID makes the latter as some kind of a outsider in a group of people as if he or she is not even counted among them.
It can be reasonably assumed that those who want and enjoy GID are not many in the same way that those really proud of it are few.
Although the Difficulty could be compensated by some creative traits, it would be hard to presume that those concerned are exactly happy for it.
It is neither exactly pleasant nor endearing when somebody finds himself or herself affected with GID that differentiates him or her from all others.
While there are those with GID who could be pleased and proud to show off their sexual predicament, they would be few and far between.
So it is that there are those hampered by the Difficulty and yet behave better, live more upright and honorable lives compared to those who are supposedly “straight” men and women./PN
