ILOILO – A village chief in Zarraga town faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Bernard L. Galache, 55, of Barangay Inagdangan Centro, was arrested around 7:24 a.m. on July 14.

“Sa barangay hall gid ya mismo ang transaction niya kag didto nag daw-anay mismo sa barangay hall sa test buy,” said Captain Raphy Señeres, Zarraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief.

Galache sold to a police poseur buyer one big plastic sachet of suspected shabu for P22,000. He allegedly sourced his goods from Iloilo City.

“Daw mga three weeks gid nga tutok naton kay kapitan,” added Señeres.

Operatives also recovered nine additional plastic sachets of suspected shabu from Galache.

All 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighed more or less 12 grams, valued at P81,000.

Three improvised tooters, two improvised lighters, aluminum foils, two pairs of scissors, and several non-drug items were also found.

The buy-bust was carried out by the Zarraga MPS together with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit and the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company./PN
