ILOILO City – A village watchman was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok 5, Barangay Kinalkalan, Balasan, Iloilo on Black Saturday, April 8.
The 48-year-old Carlo Dequito, a resident of the said barangay, yielded five grams of suspected shabu valued at P34,000.
Officers of the Balasan police station caught the suspect after he sold P7,500 worth of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
Police Captain Alexander Lauron, chief of the Balasan police station, said the suspect was a drug surrenderee in 2016.
“He started selling illegal drugs in January this year. He was considered a high-value drug suspect,” Lauron added.
Dequito was detained at the Balasan police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, would be filed against him./PN
