Village watchman, relative yield ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – A village watchman and his relative were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay General Hughes here yesterday.

Barangay tanod Jomarie Simeon, 48, and Jeffrey Simeon, 49, yielded 30 grams of suspected shabu.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Darroca, chief of the Police Regional Office 6’s Drug Enforcement Unit, the suspects conspired to sell P10,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer.

Total recoveries amounted to P204,000, Darroca said.

A Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) report tagged Jeffrey a drug pushing suspect. He also admitted that he last used shabu on Thursday night.

Darroca said the suspects got their supply from Manila, and were sent through courier.

The suspects were detained at Police Station 1.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 wousld be filed against them./PN
