ILOILO City – Police said they have been hunting Deo Dela Cruz for a year already.
On Thursday they arrested him in Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo where he also resides.
The 42-year-old has been charged with violation of Section 5 (e)(1) of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, a police report showed.
That provision of the law states that “threatening to deprive or actually depriving the woman or her child of custody to her/his family” is an act of violence against women and their children.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at 10 a.m., stated the police report.
