Sky Cable TV Channel will also be airing the show.

“The current pandemic may have shaken the world in ways nobody has ever imagined, but there is no stopping us as we sail through the challenges of the times. With our brand of resiliency as Ilonggos, we will all get through this,” Treñas said.

The mayor also noted that all video shoots were done prior to the implementation of heightened restrictions.

Protocols were observed in the entire duration of the shoot, Treñas said.

Earlier, the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) announced that there will be no actual paraw race on the shores of Arevalo district.

There may be other events in June but these are yet to be finalized.

This city is under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until May 31. Treñas is seeking for another 15-day extension.

Last year, Paraw Regatta was cancelled due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

This year, the IFFI is taking inspiration on the success of the Dinagyang Digital 2021 which it also spearheaded.

Paraw Regatta is a race of wind-propelled native boats. Now on its 49th year, it is considered the oldest sailing event in Asia and the largest in the country./PN
