ILOILO – Are the two police frontliners who got infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-1) a case of local transmission? The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6 has yet to divulge their assessment.
“We cannot say yet if this is a case of a local transmission,” according Dr. Sophia Pulmones, head of DOH-6’s Local Health Support Division.
The city government, according to Pulmones, is still tracking the source of infections of these policemen both belonging to the Mandurriao district police station.
“Ginatan-aw pa sang aton local government unit ang details of the source of infections,” she said. “Sa subong wala pa sila nakatapos sang contact tracing because nga frontliners ni sila and then very mobile man sila.”
The two policemen were a 32-year-old male from La Paz district here (Patient No. 149) and a 22-year-old male from Lambunao, Iloilo (Patient No. 151). Both belonged to the Mandurriao district police station.
