BACOLOD City – The voters’ registration for the May 2019 elections will be from July 2 to September 29, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Bacolod field office.
City Election Officer Mavil Sia said those who are aged 17 years old but will turn 18 before May next year can register.
They and those who are already 18 and 19 years old must bring with them valid identification cards and their original birth certificates, Sia stressed.
People aged 20 years need not to bring their birth certificates, only an identifications card, she added.
The identifications cards may be government-issued or school-issued. They must have a photo, signature and address, according to Sia.
Comelec-Bacolod will also cater to transfer, reactivation, correction of entry, and transfer of reactivation requests.
The Comelec city office, located along San Juan Street, will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sia reminded that the names of those who failed to vote in the May 2016 and May 2018 elections will be removed from their list of registered voters.
“They have to apply for reactivation,” she added./PN
