MANILA – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio has advised her brothers to peacefully allow police authorities to carry out rumored search warrants into their houses in Davao City.

According to Duterte-Carpio, the family has been told not to resist and instead secure their valuables as it would be “pointless” to fight the government for now and they must brace for possible “planted evidence.”

“Yes I heard that the search warrant applied for all houses. All the members of the family and I mentioned that to my siblings that you don’t have control over this anymore so I just told them just to secure your valuables and then just allow them do the search and then we expect that there will be planted evidence inside the houses so I told them we’ll just have to face that as well,” Duterte-Carpio said.

The Vice President added that the move is almost the “same template” the government used against its rival, former congressman Arnie Teves who is accused of involvement in the killing of a governor.

“It’s pointless to fight so just allow it to happen. It doesn’t mean that the search is illegal, but then I told them no one should be hurt, no one should resist, just allow them to do whatever that is illegal,” Duterte-Carpio said.

Several supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte have converged at his residence since Thursday to protect it from possible police raid.

‘STAY CALM’

Meanwhile, former President Duterte has urged his supporters raging over his International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest to stay calm, assuring them that judgment day is coming for all.

“Sabihin mo sa kanila, ‘Relax lang, may hangganan ang lahat. There will be a day of reckoning for all,’” Duterte-Carpio said, relaying the message of the former Chief Executive.

The Vice President also extended the family’s gratitude to Filipinos for their “prayers and profound support” for the former leader.

“We can feel your love, we can feel your anger. We can emaphtize with everything’s rage about what happened,” she said.

Duterte-Carpio also said that her father looked “well rested’ during their meeting and he told her he’s been spending time sleeping and watching TV, but missed Filipino food, particularly paksiw.

VP Sara shared her plans to meet with her father’s lawyer to discuss legal strategy. She will return to the Philippines once the next family member arrives in The Hague to assist Duterte./PN
