VP Sara: Political developments made me ‘emotionally numb’

MANILA – Vice President and Education secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio stated that recent developments in her political career made her “emotionally numb.”

In an interview with ONE PH’s At the Moment with Imee, Duterte-Carpio said what she is feeling right now is way different when she won the elections in 2022.

“Manhid ka na eh, babaeng bato, ano ba ‘yan? Wala ng feelings?” Sen. Imee Marcos asked Duterte-Carpio.

“Wala na. Manhid na. Namanhid na ako simula last year,” Duterte-Carpio responded to the presidential sister. “Hindi pala namatay, pinatay yung feelings ko.”

Senator Marcos then asked Duterte-Carpio, “Eh before last year normal ka pa? Anyare? Anyare last year nung nagkaganyan ka?”

Duterte-Carpio then laughingly responded, “Public naman yung buhay ko eh, balikan nyo lang yung mga pangyayari.”

Last year, the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Ferdinand “Martin” Romualdez, has realigned the P650-million confidential funds of Duterte-Carpio’s offices – the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.

Since then, Duterte-Carpio’s relations with the Marcos family, except for Imee, appeared to have soured.

It was further fueled when First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos admitted that she has ill-feelings towards Duterte-Carpio after the latter was seen laughing when her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, publicly called President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. “bangag.”

“May the good Lord protect you from those who wish you ill because you are a kind person and you have so much potential,” the senator told the Vice President./PN
