W. Visayas cops net 1,566 wanted persons in Q3

ILOILO City – In a robust three-month initiative from July to September this year, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended 1,566 individuals with outstanding warrants.

Of those arrested, 255 were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) and the remaining 1,311 fell under other categories of wanted individuals.

Leading the campaign, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported the highest number of arrests, totaling 653, which constitutes approximately 41.7 percent of all apprehensions.

Here is the breakdown of arrests by different police offices across the region:

* Aklan Police Provincial Office – 12 MWPs, 77 others

* Antique Police Provincial Office – 35 MWPs, 76 others

* Capiz Police Provincial Office – 34 MWPs, 81 others

* Guimaras Police Provincial Office – two MWPs, 29 others

* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 67 MWPs, 227 others

* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – 61 MWPs, 592 others

* Bacolod City Police Office – 18 MWPs, 91 others

* Iloilo City Police Office – 17 MWPs, 114 others

* Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 – three MWPs, 21 others

* Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 – six MWPs, two others

All arrested individuals have been turned over to the appropriate courts for processing.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the regional police chief, commended the collective efforts of the community and various law enforcement agencies.

“These arrests are a testament to the support we receive from the public and our partners,” he said. “We urge everyone to continue assisting our police operatives as we strive to apprehend the remaining wanted persons in the region.”/PN
