ILOILO City – Law enforcement in Western Visayas apprehended the region’s No. 1 most wanted person as well as two other wanted persons.
Personnel of the Batan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group tracker team and Aklan Provincial Field Unit arrested alias “Edser,” 27, at his residence in Barangay Angas, Batan, Aklan around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
Edser, who was wanted for the crime of rape, was detained at the Batan MPS.
Presiding Judge Joebil Barrera Delmoro of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 2 in Kalibo, Aklan recommended no bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
On the same day, another wanted person was apprehended by the joint operatives of Malay MPS and Laguna Police Provincial Office in Barangay Manoc-manoc, Malay. Alias “Barok” was served with an arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Barok was taken into custody by the Malay MPS.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
In Negros Occidental, authorities arrested “Whendil,” the No. 2 most wanted person in La Carlota City, around 5:11 p.m. on Monday.
Facing rape charges, the suspect was in the custody of the La Carlota City police, awaiting further legal proceedings./PN
