BACOLOD City – It was some of the rehired employees’ fault that the salary release of contractual workers in capitol-run hospitals was delayed, said Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea.
Gelvolea disclosed this after she met with the administrative officers of 11 district hospitals in the province last week.
The release of the wages is now delayed for three months.
“Those who complained of delayed salaries are the ones lack supporting documents or submitted [the documents] late,” said Gelvolea.
During the meeting, Gelvolea and the administrative officers agreed to require the casual workers to submit the required documents not later than May or June, just in time for the renewal of contracts in July.
Gelvolea said the contractual workers will now have ample time to process the requirements, like certified copies of their nursing licenses from the Professional Regulations Commission for nurses and tax identification numbers from the Bureau of Internal Revenue./PN
