ILOILO City – Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky has stepped forward to address the allegations that Gov. Rhodora Cadiao was not properly informed about the change in the police provincial director for Antique.

Wanky swiftly rebutted Cadiao’s assertions in a press conference on Monday, Feb. 26, stating the governor was told about the change prior.

“Done deal na ina. Bal-an na ina ni governor. All I have to do is implement it,” Wanky said.

He clarified that as the director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), he was simply executing orders from the chief of the Philippine National Police, emphasizing that such directives are standard procedures within the organization’s hierarchy.

Explaining the delay in implementing the change, Wanky cited his immediate responsibilities following his assumption of the position as the PRO-6 director.

Na-delay pa gani eh kay nagkaroon ako ng turnover. Ifinollow-up ako sa taas nga wala pa ma-implement ang relief order. We cannot question if it is the decision of the PNP chief,” he added.

Wanky also shed light on the criteria behind reshuffling or revamping leadership positions within the police force. He emphasized that such decisions are primarily based on the performance of the individuals involved./PN
