ROXAS City – A man listed as the No. 2 wanted person in Capiz was arrested in Barangay Velasco, Lemery, Iloilo, a police report showed.
Joint elements of the Capiz Police Provincial Office and the Lemery municipal police station caught the 47-year-old Elpedio Bansagan around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Bansagan, a resident of West Villaflores in Maayon, Capiz, sought refuge in Lemery after an arrest warrant was issued against him for two counts of rape.
Judge Jeffry Almalbis of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Capiz issued the warrant on April 3, 2012.
Almalbis was detained. No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, two wanted persons were nabbed in Tapaz, Capiz on the same day.
One of them is the 45-year-old Noel Castor of Barangay Siya, Tapaz.
Castor, listed as the No. 1 most wanted person in Bingawan, Iloilo’s municipal police station, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion, Tapaz, police said.
Castor had been hiding for 24 years. He faces a murder charge in Bingawan, police said.
Around 8 p.m., another murder suspect was caught in Barangay Siya – the 26-year-old resident Roswill Jimenez.
Jimenez is listed at the No. 4 most wanted person in Calinog, Iloilo’s police station. He also faces a charge for illegal possession of firearms.
