PAREF-Westbridge came up with clutch baskets in the second overtime to score a 93-87 victory over Leganes in the Under-17 category of the 2017 Iloilo Basketball League (IBL) Games in Leganes, Iloilo.
After failing to close out the match in the first overtime, Westbridge capitalized on its run-and-gun game in the second extension to claim the win. In the other U-17 match, Georgia demolished Barotac Nuevo, 56-24.
In the U-14, University of San Agustin scored a lopsided 52-21 victory over Georgia while Iloilo National High School scored 54-45 over Leganes.
In the U-12, Pototan Pilot (B) escaped Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus 36-31 but Pototan Pilot (A) failed to make it a double win after a 51-27 loss to Leganes.
In the lone Under-10 match, PAREF-Westbridge scored 28-20 over Oton.
Other teams in the month-long tournament were West Visayas State University, New Lucena, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Barotac Nuevo Comprehensive National High School, St. Paul University-Iloilo, Ateneo de Iloilo, Jalandoni Memorial National High School, Central Philippine University, Barotac Municipal Team, Assumption College, Mandurriao National High School, Iloilo Science College of Fisheries, and University of Iloilo.
Ilonggo sportsman and commissioner Alfie Lagman facilitated the basketball league.
