WESTERN VISAYAS ON COVID ALERT LEVEL 2

MANILA – Starting today, the cities of Bacolod and Iloilo shift to Alert Level 2 while the rest of Western Visayas maintain the same status until the end of the month, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced over the weekend.

Region 6’s new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) classification recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) and the Department of Health (DOH) was approved by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Bacolod City was placed under Alert Level 4 while Iloilo City under Alert Level 3 for the first 14 days of November.

The IATF-MEID confirmed last week’s Alert Level 2 recommendation for Bacolod and Iloilo City of the DOH in Region 6 due to the decline in the average daily attack rate and hospital care utilization rate.

Under Alert Level 2, indoor dine-in services and fitness studios and gyms may operate at a 50 percent venue capacity while such services outdoors may operate at a 70 percent venue capacity.

On-site capacities will only be allowed for fully vaccinated individuals, while take-out and delivery in restaurants will be allowed in all alert levels.

President Duterte on Thursday approved the nationwide implementation of the Alert Level System in determining pandemic restrictions.

Under the new policy, lockdowns will only be limited in areas with high COVID-19 community transmission./PN
