
ILOILO City – The top fugitive in Western Visayas was apprehended on March 10 in Barangay Poblacion, Taytay, Palawan.
The arrest of “Louie”, a 27-year-old murder suspect, was made at 11:45 a.m.
The Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 30 issued the arrest warrant.
Louie was a laborer and resident of Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City. He moved to Palawan to evade arrest here.
The successful operation was spearheaded by the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company of the Iloilo City Police Office, with support from several law enforcement units including the Taytay Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Provincial Intelligence Team – Guimaras.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the effort, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in bringing fugitives to justice.
“The arrest of this wanted person reflects our personnel’s commitment to ensuring that those evading the law face the courts,” he said.
The accused is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings./PN
