Death penalty for drug trafficking
Do you agree with Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III that death penalty should be the punishment for high-level drug trafficking?
High-level drug trafficking is a crime and it is very alarming but death as punishment for me is beyond human law. Life is divine and only God can rule over that matter. – KEVIN PATRICK CASIPE, 20, freelance writer
I honestly agree. We are not making any progress on criminals and drug-involved citizens. The proposal is good. We need discipline. If we are afraid of death, then let us not do anything that would lead us to it. – JAPHETH SUAREZ, 21, from Center of International Linkages and Public Information
No. Instead of capital punishment why not life imprisonment and serious rehabilitation? Yes, drugs make humans inhumane but instead of taking out life, why not give him/her enlightenment. — IAN NOVEROS, 23, seaman from Miag-ao, Iloilo
It is just proper. We really need a robust measure against this very big problem. We just can’t afford leniency in this issue. — JEMAR HAROLD JISON, 26, registered nurse
I disagree. I think nothing will change. What we need are people with strong will to fight and put those drug traffickers behind bars. — ROJEAN DAYOT, 19, Agriculture student

Tama gid ko ka-proud. Mapakita sang mga Ilonggo sa ibang bansa ang aton culture kag kun ano kita ka-talented. – PERLYN ROSE SOQUEÑO, 24, unemployed
I’m surprised. I didn’t expect they will join the parade in New York. I am very proud of my fellow Filipinos. These festivals will make known our own talent and bring a great pride to our country. – MERCY GRACE GONZALES, 19, student
It is one great chance to showcase our local talent. It is more than an honor. The performers, too, will have a chance to see other places. Our culture is rich and highly appreciated. – JESSA MAE PADILLA, 19, student, West Visayas State University
