Should the minimum fare be increased by P2.50?
Baw! Gamay na daan ang allowance ko, madugang pa plete. Masakit man bala sa bulsa ang P2.50, especially if gapuli-puli ka sa inyo balay. – LEDA PARRA, Pharmacy student, Pavia, Iloilo
I’m not in favor with this. Two rides nga daan ‘ko from house to work. That fare hike, masupot pa na tane ipangbakal sang mga gamit ko sa work. Damo na galastuson, madugang pa gid ina. – JENNYVEVE HILAOS, teacher, La Paz, Iloilo City
Dako gid ina nga bulig sa amon. ‘Du kalaw-ay man na nga ang gasolina nagataas, kami ‘ya indi, lugi na kami karon.
Kag isa pa, amo lang dya daan palangabuhi-an namon, wala man kami may ginsarigan. – RICK SALES, jeepney driver, Iloilo City
If we’re going to look it in a positive way, daku gid ang bulig sa mga jeepney drivers. Not all gina-own nila ang ila nga jeep, iba renta lang. Sa side naman sang mga commuters, it’s a bit sacrifice ah. Gapainit man sila daan just to give us a ride. – ROLAND DE VERA, Business Administration student, West Visayas State University
No to fare hike. Always late night naku magpuli, ang tendency maakopar gid ko motor going sa balay. Now, kun may fare hike pa gid, wala na may mabilin sa akon plus pa nga nubo ang sweldo ko. – NANCY PINTIG, employee, Santa Barbara, Iloilo
Is there a need to build a bridge connecting Iloilo and Guimaras?
Motorboats may suffer. The local governments concerned have to do something to address this. A bridge connecting the two major islands would be a first in Western Visayas’ history. Perhaps a “toll gate” of some sort should be implemented for the fees.
Or perhaps still continue with the motorboat service. – YOSEP JEON, 20, student
Medyo hati ang akon opinion. Kay ang una ko napaminsar is damo madulaan sang work, especially dira sa may port. Ang mga bangkero kag mga ga-operate, etc.
Pero na paminsar ko man na basi this will give them better opportunities kay ma-develop na ang ila lugar. – JOAN FRANCISCO, 29, virtual assistant
Yes, because not only would it positively affect the economy, it would also ease travel between Iloilo and Guimaras. Many people from Guimaras work in Iloilo and vice versa. – FRANCISCO GANGOSO, 20, student
Gusto ko magka-bridge eh. Dako na nga bulig sa aton indi lang sa transportation kundi sa iban nga mga tawo nga kulbaan mag biyahe sa dagat. Kag advantage gid sa tanan kay mas safe gid siya. – YEOJ ANTON ABANERO, 23, unemployed
Yes, because land transportation is safer and more convenient than sea transportation. – JAN PATRICK PREDIGUA, 22, call center agent
