REGINE Velasquez, who recently renewed her contract with ABS-CBN, shared some valuable advice for the younger artists of today’s generation.

Having been actively involved in the showbiz industry for almost four decades (37 years to be exact), she expressed her gratitude towards everyone who has supported her throughout her successful and illustrious career.

“I’m happy that these young singers –– these young artists –– would always come to me ‘pag meron silang hingiin na advice. Natutuwa ako dun kasi parang nashe-share ko sa kanila ‘yung mga experiences ko,” she shared.

The 53-year-old singer stated that she considers it her duty as an experienced artist to share her knowledge and expertise with younger singers, as a way of giving back to the music community.

Wala naman ‘yung problema sa’kin. Feeling ko that’s how it should be, I mean, the 35 years that I’ve been singing, paulit-ulit, those experiences will die with me later on in life, ‘di ba so might as well you share it with other kids and hopefully it will make their journey better or a little bit less stressful,” she added.

Regine hopes to convey an important message to younger artists: always show up, regardless of what happens. This is particularly important in the entertainment industry, where thousands of people are watching live or on a screen. For Asia’s songbird, showing up is critical.

Siguro sa industriyang ito all they need to do para sa akin, they just have to show up. Kung ano ang estado ng mind nila, estado ng puso nila, ng boses nila, they just have to keep showing up. Alam niyo ‘yung kasabihan na ‘the show must go on?’ it really has to,” she shared.

She added: “Because the audience will not know what’s happening – they don’t really need to know. So, you just really need to keep showing up. That’s what it is, that’s what we do. We are entertainers so show up and keep showing up to entertain people. I hope that I’m able to say that to them enough kasi minsan ganun ‘yun.”

she added.

Meanwhile, Regine is gearing up for her upcoming concert, “Regine Rocks,” which is set to happen at the Mall of Asia Arena on Nov. 25.

This marks her first rock concert ever since her debut as a singer 37 years ago. (PUSH)
