KRIS Aquino has stirred fresh speculation about her relationship with former “Sisterakas” co-star Vice Ganda, after the actress cast doubt as to the chances of them working again.
The “I Love You, Hater” star made the candid comment in a recent Instagram question-and-answer session with her followers. One fan asked: “Kung bibigyan ka muli ng isang movie project at makatambal mo si Vice Ganda, tatanggapin mo ba?”
Aquino answered: “Gugustuhin ba niya akong makatrabaho?”
She also replied in the negative when another follower asked whether she and Vice Ganda met up in Bangkok, Thailand, where they both happened to be at the same time early this week.
Aquino’s cryptic comment about Vice Ganda came a week after she similarly gave an uncertain answer, about where she stands in the comedian’s life. At the time, she only said, “I hope so,” when asked whether they remain friends.
Close friends since 2012 when they co-starred in “Sisterakas” with Ai-Ai delas Alas, Aquino and Vice Ganda have weathered intrigues surrounding their relationship.
In 2015, for instance, after denying they had a misunderstanding after supposedly clashing business ideas, Aquino said of Vice Ganda: “It takes years of closeness, understanding, compassion, mutual effort and honesty to become true friends.
“Nagtampuhan, nagdedmahan, nagmahalan na kami ni Vice for six years plus. And our formula is that we know how to tell each other the truth without getting sensitive or hurtful.
“We know when to give each other a pat on the back and words of encouragement, and we know how to take things seriously, while still knowing how and when to laugh.”
Rumors of a supposed rift between them surfaced once again in 2017, when Vice Ganda partnered with Aquino’s estranged ex-husband James Yap for a resto-bar business. Aquino, reacting to rumors that the venture caused a rift between her and Vice Ganda, clarified that while they no longer saw each other as much as they used to, they remained on good terms.
Three months later in January 2018, Aquino further quelled speculation when she left a supportive comment on Vice Ganda’s Instagram post and even wrote, “Missing you.”
Amid Aquino’s latest comments about their friendship, Vice Ganda has notably kept silent, although he has continued doing his Aquino-approved imitation of her voice in live episodes of “It’s Showtime.” (ABS-CBN News)
