BACOLOD City – Police have yet to determine the motive in stabbing a man in Crossing Sumakwel, Barangay San Jose, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
The homebound 22-year-old Romeo Mijares Jr. of Barangay Cabanbanan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental was standing along a road around 12:30 a.m. on Monday when a man stabbed him on the stomach, a police report showed.
Mijares was from a benefit dance that time, police said.
He was rushed to the Binalbagan Infirmary and was later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City where he expired.
According to investigators, a certain “Doming” – about 38 to 40 years old – of Barangay San Jose, Binalbagan had a hand in the stabbing.
Doming fled the crime scene after the stabbing. The police launched a manhunt against him./PN
