BACOLOD City – Police were still identifying the motive in stabbing a man in Victorias City, Negros Occidental on New Year’s Eve.
The 41-year-old Jowelyn Bastutin of Barangay 10, Victorias City sustained stab wounds on the left side of the body and was rushed to the Ikaayong Lawas Foundation Medical Clinic.
But attending physician Dr. Jose Rabang pronounced Bastutin “dead on arrival,” police said.
According to Superintendent Herman Garbosa, head of the Victorias City police station, Barangay 11, Victorias City resident Andy “Bonbon” Esconde and a John Doe were responsible for Bastutin’s death.
Bastutin was standing along a road when the suspects stabbed him, police said.
The suspects fled after the stabbing.
