THE new Toyota Hilux – a sturdy and reliable pickup truck that’s ready for any and all challenges – has been updated for power and durability. It now comes in several variants, including the 4×4 Conquest, the 4×2 Conquest, and the G variants, which each have AT and MT options; and the E MT variants.
The update gives drivers full control and access to information, thanks to the 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display, as well as steering wheel switches and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the Conquest, G, and E variants.
The Conquest variants also get Cruise Control, which maintains the vehicle at a pre-selected speed. This means that the Hilux is prepared for any sort of traffic setting it may (and inevitably will) find itself in.
Going on an off-road adventure or hauling big cargo? The new Toyota Hilux is up to the task: The 4×4 Conquest variants are fitted with a 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV engine with a max output of 201hp. Meanwhile, the 4×2 Conquest, G, and E variants come with a 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV engine with a max output of 148hp. Both engine types boast a four to five percent increase in fuel efficiency. There’s also plenty of cargo space with a tailgate assist and bedliner for the Conquest variants.
Of course, a sturdy vehicle is fitted with excellent security features. The new Toyota Hilux comes with ABS with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution, giving the driver better control of the car and brakes in emergency situations.
Meanwhile, the 4×4 Conquest variants are also fitted with downhill assist control, vehicle stability control, and active traction control. All Conquest variants have reverse cameras and clearance sonars, while the G variants have back sonars.
A vehicle that’s ready to take on any challenge needs to look the part, and the Hilux is no exception. The update gives the Toyota Hilux Conquest an even tougher, more rugged look thanks to its exclusive Emotional Red color, as well as bi-beam LED headlamps, LED Line Guide rear combination lamps, and sports bar. The tailgate carries the signature Hilux branding and an over-fender garnish, while the cargo bed is emblazoned with “Conquest” on the sides. (with Topgear/PN)
