Which Iloilo City barangays are drug-cleared?

ILOILO City – Ninety-two barangays in this southern city have been so far been declared as cleared of illegal drugs by the Regional Oversight Committee in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Data obtained by Panay News showed that most of the cleared villages were in the City Proper; of its 45 barangays, 33 were cleared.

The City Proper was followed by Jaro district with 20 barangays drug-cleared (out of 42 total barangays).

In Molo district, 11 of its 25 barangays were cleared while Mandurriao and La Paz had nine barangays each that were cleared.

Mandurriao had a total of 18 barangays while La Paz had 25.

Meanwhile, the districts of Arevalo and Lapuz had five drug-cleared barangays each out of their total of 13 and 12 villages, respectively.

Iloilo City had 180 barangays. The drug-cleared villages made up 51.1 percent.

The drug-cleared barangays per district since 2017 were as follows:

* Arevalo – Quezon,  San Jose, Mohon, Sta. Filomena, and Sta. Cruz

* City Proper – Sampaguita, Ed Ganzon, Roxas Village, San Jose, Arsenal Aduana , Inday, Nonoy, Rima-Rizal, Sto. Rosario, Tanza Timawa I, Tanza Timawa II, Yulo Arroyo, Danao , Flores,  Gloria,  Hipodromo, Kahirupan, Kauswagan, Legaspi dela Rama, Magsaysay, Maria Clara, Ortiz, Osmeña, President Roxas, Rizal Ibarra, Veterans Village,  San Felix, Tanza Bonifacio, Liberation, San Agustin, Mabolo Delgado, Monica Blumentrit, and Villa Anita

* Jaro – Libertad San Isabel, Luna, Javellana, Democracia, El 98, Lopez Jaena, Our Lady Of Fatima, Our Lady Of Lourdes,  San Jose, San Roque, Seminario, Arguelles, Buhang, Buntatala, Dungon A, Montinola, MV Hechanova, MH Del Pilar, Benedicto, and San Pedro

* La Paz – Banuyao, Aguinaldo, Lopez Jaena Sur, Bantud, Burgos, Hinactacan, Luna, McArthur, and Magdalo

* Lapuz – Loboc, Punong, Libertad, Jalandoni, and Rizal Lapuz Sur

* Mandurriao – Calahunan, Dungon C, Guzman-Jesena, Pali, San Rafael, PHHC 17,PHHC 22, Santa Rosa, and Taft North

* Molo – Avanceña, Poblacion, San Antonio, South Fundidor, Taal, Cochero, Infante, North Fundidor, San Pedro, Tap-oc, and North San Jose

The Regional Oversight Committee was composed of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency as chair, and representatives from the Police Regional Office 6, Department of Interior and Local Government and the Department of Health as members.

According to PDEA, before declaring a barangay free from illegal drugs, the committee must convene and make a validation on the non-availability of illegal drug supply in the area, absence of drug transit activity, absence of clandestine drug laboratory and chemical warehouse, absence of marijuana cultivation sites, absence of drug den, drug pushers and users./PN
