BACOLOD City – Police were still identifying the suspect and the motive in shooting a fisherman in Barangay Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the Himamaylan City police station, identified the fisherman as the 30-year-old resident Danilo Dulce.
From what the police gathered so far, Benitez, with live-in partner Analiza Baladiang, was already preparing to sleep when someone from outside shouted his name.
Benitez – curious of who was looking for him around 10:30 p.m. on Monday – peeped through the house’s bamboo wall.
Baladiang then heard a gunshot, she told police investigators.
Dulce sustained a gunshot wound on the neck and was rushed to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City where attending physician Dr. Jezreel Gonzales pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
