ILOILO City – Who will be crowned Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019?
The Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI) has launched the search for the next ambassadress of goodwill of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival.
IDFI Miss Iloilo Dinagyang committee chairperson PJ Arañador hoped to attract more applicants for the annual beauty pageant.
“Masadya kon madamo,” said Arañador, an international lifestyle designer for home and fashion, industrial design and product development, space planning, and brand image building.
The Miss Iloilo Dinagyang pageant night is tentatively set on Jan. 25, 2019. The tentative venue is the Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao district.
Arañador wished that all the seven districts of Iloilo City would be represented in the beauty pageant plus the towns in Iloilo province and Ilongga beauties overseas.
The Miss Iloilo Dinagyang committee has started accepting applicants. It set two days of screening – Nov. 14 and 15.
The finalists would be known on Nov. 16.
More than having a beautiful face, a candidate must be a “complete package”, said Arañador.
Applicants must be between 16 to 26 years old and at least 5 feet and five inches tall.
“We are looking for girls who are really exceptional when they speak. They should be able to represent Iloilo internationally,” said Arañador.
He also encouraged stakeholders in Iloilo’s fashion, beauty and design community to handle/mentor Miss Iloilo Dinagyang candidates.
Aside from the major Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Carnival Queen crown, there are four other titles up for grabs: Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Culture, Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Industries, Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Travel, and Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Environment.
There would be two runners-up: the Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 First Princess and Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2019 Second Princess./PN
