ILOILO – Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Police Colonel Roland Vilela is leaving the province tomorrow for a new assignment. Who will be his successor?
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan announced yesterday the IPPO would have an officer-in-charge – Police Colonel Kenneth Lucas, chief of PRO-6’s Regional Comptroller Division.
Vilela’s next assignment will be as Philippine police attaché to the Unite d States. This is a three-year assignment.
Vilela started his IPPO assignment in September last year. Prior to this, he headed the Comptroller Division of the Police Regional Office 2 (Cagayan Valley). He was also the national alumni president of the 1997 Kapanalig Class of the Philippine National Police Academy.
Pamuspusan said Lucas would lead the IPPO until Vilela’s replacement is named.
The director said Lucas is actually of the nominees for the IPPO’s top post.
Lucas is qualified and the most senior police official at the PRO-6, said Pamuspusan.
Also being considered for Vilela’s seat is Police Colonel Pablito Asmod, chief of the PRO-6’s Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division.
He also described Asmod as qualified and, like Lucas, also a senior officer at the PRO-6.
From the list of recommendees that the Philippine National Police will submit, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. will be selecting the next IPPO director.
