KALIBO, Aklan — Applicants for the Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2015 pageant will undergo screening on Sept. 27.

Only 16 will be chosen as finalists, according to Albert Menez, chair of the festival organizer Kalibo Sto. Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi).

Menez said the finalists must show their “charm and confidence” during the pageant night on Jan. 9 at the Gov. Augusto B. Legaspi Sports Complex here.

They will engage in photo shoots, press presentation, rehearsals, out-of-town fashion shows, and other pre-pageant events in Boracay and Roxas City.

Kasafi will continue accepting applications until Sept. 26 at its office in Capt. Gil Mijares Building, XIX Martyrs Street here.

Applicants must be Filipinos aged 15 to 24 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, born to Aklanon parents or studying in Aklan, never been married, and of good moral character.

Mutya it Kalibo Ati-Atihan began in 2011 as one of the highlights of the annual Ati-Atihan Festival. Cash and other prizes await the winners.

Next year’s pageant promises to be more spectacular, with actors from the television network GMA set to grace the event. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
