BACOLOD City – It was still unclear why a man hacked his uncle in Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, according to the police.
The 42-year-old resident Antonio Canonoy Jr. sustained hack wounds on the chest and left shoulder, a police report showed.
He was currently under treatment at the Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan City.
His 22-year-old nephew Ian Canonoy, also a resident of the village, was responsible for the hacking, police said.
Antonio was driving a Honda XRM motorcycle with Alvin Jay Canonoy, another relative, around 8 p.m. on Tuesday when Ian waylaid them.
Ian then attacked Antonio with a bolo, said the police.
Relatives Romeo Canonoy, 57 and Larry Canonoy, 44, were also there when the hacking happened.
Police were still locating Ian, who fled after the incident./PN
