Why teen smut writers can’t win, Part 3

I USE social media to my advantage.

It has given me the platform to engage a lot of people.

In social media, there are role players.

This is the community that I’m engaging in this series.

Role players are mostly smut writers.

And some, shockingly as young as 9 or 11 years old.

I want to start the dialogue, so I use my unconventional ways.

This continues my piece from last week.

Why Teen Smut Writers, and Their Defenders, Can’t Win

By Peter Solis Nery

*

15. Dahil libre ang smut online, one cancer cell actually grows exponentially. One smut writer equals 69 smut readers, maybe 690, maybe 6,900. And if you think the adult warning (Rated R: 18+ only) prevents the spread of disease, think again. It actually triggers minors to click and read. Kasalanan nila? Wait, who again is the Devil? Oh, the one who leads others to sin, or go astray.

*

16. Tell me, where did I ever lead anyone to sin? (I told you masturbation and being sex positive is not sinful; and if you are of legal age, and it is consensual, it is not even a crime. Condoms, people. And consent!) How did I lead others to sin — with my strong, vulgar, earth-shaking words? Haha. Do you mean to tell me that people who see my posts online are innocent of these words? Here, ang malutong na “Fuck you!”

*

17. Who is my God? A big liberating god. Very powerful. Bigger than your gods if you cannot be honest and admit to yourself that having read this far, I actually make sense, am good natured, a visionary, an effective writer (keeps you reading, right?), may paninindigan, may matatag na philosophy, and did not use my writing talent and fame “unworthily or corruptly for the sake of personal or financial gain.”

*

18. When your daughter is raped, you have the right to curse the rapists to death. ‘Wag tayong ipokrito. Binagsak ka ng teachers mo, you wish them dead. Inagaw jowa mo, you wish them dead. An eye for an eye sa Old Testament, at sa iba pang religions of the world, if you are smart enough to study other religions. Now, because most of the minors are “raped by smut” lying around and spread on the Internet, I feel that I am rightful in giving a curse. Rightful wrath, rightful indignation in the name of God. I’m not even cursing the writers and readers. I am cursing “those who justify teen smut writing.” Kasi to justify young people writing smut is plain evil; it is leading many others to sin. (I was a seminarian so I’m not happy with church talk, but “corruption” is a word you need to understand here). If you cannot understand this point, you will not understand anything else after this sentence.

*

19. So, why would I risk my reputation to gain enemies, ignorant haters, idiot bashers, stupid and elementary kibitzers? Well, for just one lost soul who may be changed by my words. (My greatest pride as a writer: to change one life for the better!) If you are so secured and certain in your idea that teen smut writing is good and great, this piece is definitely not for you. (But my curse is.)

*

20. As for curses, we have the power to give curses, and give blessings (same mouth from where holy, and unholy, words come). Of course, I don’t advise that you curse lightly. I don’t recommend it. May kabayaran po iyan. May balik. Think karma. Don’t curse anyone if you are in the wrong. I can curse anyone I want because I am ready for karma (if I am proven wrong). Which is to say that’s how strongly I am against those people leading others to teen smut writing.

*

21. Self-expression, practice writing, personal style, chosen genre? Is that your best shot? If you want to develop your writing talent, write without resorting to cheap tricks like sex on the page. Ang dami pong maisusulat to promote goodness in the world. Which is to say, you don’t have to prostitute your talent. I will fail as a teacher if I cannot make you see that! Magpupokpok para madaling sumikat? Bakit, wala talagang talent to write kung ano ang matino? You know why I can write good smut if I wanted? Because I already know how to write great literature kahit hindi gumamit ng smut tricks.

*

22. Who am I to call out the smut writers? Ano ang karapatan ko? If I am insignificant, why do you bother? Why are you so triggered? You strongly react to me and to what I say because you know that some people listen to me. That my opinion is important enough to be in a newspaper, or book. To be shared, and reposted, on Facebook. And most importantly, that some young writers may actually be “influenced” by me to become better writers than you are. And then, where will you be? Stuck as a smut writer! (To be continued/PN)
