Why was peanut, ‘balut’ vendor stabbed?

BACOLOD City – Police were still trying to determine the motive in the stabbing of a 59-year-old peanut and balut vendor.

Two unidentified persons attacked Rodrigo Garce, a resident of Barangay 1, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Garce sustained stab wounds on the back. He was confined in a hospital, the Himamaylan City police said.

He was peddling his products at around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City when the two suspects approached him and bought boiled peanuts, police investigation showed.

When Garce was about to leave, one of the two suspects stabbed him twice on the back, said the police.

The suspects boarded their motorcycle and fled after the incident, investigation showed./PN
