WILCON Depot – the country’s leading home improvement and construction supply retailer – bagged an award for retail in the 2018 ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) for the priority integration sector.
The award that Wilcon got fell under the ABA’s retail category.
Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad gave the award to Wilcon founder and chairman emeritus William Belo during the ABA gala dinner on Nov. 12 held at The Ritz-Carlton in Singapore.
Wilcon President and Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Belo-Cincochan, SEVP-Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie Ong, VP for Human Resources Grace Tiong, VP for Product Development Eden Godino, Investors Relations Officer Jean Alger, AVP for Sales and Operations Ruben Flores, Ruel Godino, Francis Lazaro, Benly Chan, Rubylyn Candelaria, Desiree Cuerdo, and Catherine Guingab, and GoNegosyo’s Founder Joey Concepcion and wife Marissa Concepcion were also present at the awarding.
Aside from Wilcon Depot, priority integration sector awards were also given to 16 other businesses under other categories – Agri-Based, Aviation, Automotive, Electronics, Energy, Finance, Fisheries, Food & Beverage, Healthcare, ICT, Infrastructure, Logistics, Rubber-Based, Textiles, Tourism and Wood-Based.
The prestigious ASEAN Business Awards is organized by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council to recognize the most outstanding and successful ASEAN companies contributing to ASEAN’s economic growth and prosperity./PN
