ILOILO — A wing van whose brakes failed crashed into six vehicles along Lopez Jaena Street in Dumangas, Iloilo on Sunday afternoon, September 20.
According to the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, the involved parked and moving vehicles included an e-tricycle, a motorcycle, a Mitsubishi Xpander, a Toyota Hilux, a Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and a Toyota Wigo.
Police identified the truck driver as alias “Julius,” 50, a resident of Mandaue City, Cebu, who was traveling alongside two truck helpers.
Initial investigation by the Dumangas police revealed that the wing van suffered brake failure while en route from Barotac Nuevo toward the roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) port in the town’s Barangay Baras.
The driver of the e-tricycle, alias “Jun,” sustained minor injuries, while the five other vehicles suffered front and rear bumper damage from the multi-vehicle collision.
The truck driver and his two helpers were taken into police custody for proper disposition./PN
