ILOILO City – Embodying a winning spirit, the Uswag Team — led by mayoral candidate Inday Raisa Treñas and re-electionist Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon — vows to continue championing progress and driving transformation for this southern city.

Today, at their proclamation rally, the Treñas-Ganzon tandem, along with their 12-member City Council slate and the Uswag Ilonggo party-list, headed by Cong. James “Jojo” Ang, will seek the Ilonggos’ unity and support in realizing this vision.

Titled “Padayon sa Kauswagan”, over 35,000 strong barangay leaders and supporters are expected to join the Team Uswag kick-off rally to be held at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.

“We have shown that unity can drive meaningful change and make things happen for Iloilo City. When leaders stand united and move in a shared direction, the city not only sustains its progress but accelerates it. Team Uswag is the leadership we need,” said incumbent Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, the driving force behind the team, as he wholeheartedly endorsed the team’s commitment to championing continued progress.

DRILON ENDORSES TEAM USWAG

The team, most especially Inday Raisa and VM Ganzon, got the valuable endorsement of none other than former Senate President Franklin M. Drilon, further solidifying their vision and commitment to the Ilonggos.

According to Drilon, the continuous progress of the city is not merely a result of chance but of good leadership and clear direction in managing the city.

The former Ilonggo Senate President is confident that the development of Iloilo City will continue under the leadership of Inday Raisa, together with VM Ganzon and the entire Team Uswag.

PERFECT BLEND TANDEM

Raisa and Ganzon’s partnership is widely regarded as a perfect blend, with the young Treñas bringing fresh and innovative leadership alongside Ganzon’s seasoned experience.

As a devoted family woman and mother, Raisa has pledged to serve every Ilonggo family with unwavering dedication and humility.

She remains steadfast in upholding the principles and legacy of exemplary public service set by her father and role model, Mayor Treñas, as she vows to work tirelessly for the betterment of the city and the Ilonggos.

She is offering a leadership that blends the strength of a father with the caring nature of a mother.

As the eldest daughter of Mayor Treñas, Raisa has spent her life witnessing her father’s dedication to public service over the past 40 years. This experience has deeply inspired and shaped her own commitment to serving the community.

“I hold close the values my father instilled in me, along with the countless stories of hope, resilience, and the aspirations of every Ilonggo. These serve as my foundation as I strive to create a more progressive and united Iloilo City for every Ilonggo family. I ask everyone to join Team Uswag in turning this vision into reality,” Raisa expressed.

Ganzon, on the other hand, is a seasoned public servant who has proven his dedication and loyalty to good governance. As a vice mayor greatly supporting the Treñas administration, he has become an integral part of the city’s big achievements.

For almost eight years, Ganzon has served as the Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. As the head of the council, Ganzon takes pride in the significant legislative accomplishments made during his tenure, which have contributed to Iloilo’s good governance track record.

Strengthening the Treñas-Ganzon partnership is another strong leader, Uswag Ilonggo Party-list Rep. Ang, whose contributions have significantly advanced the development of the southern city.

Completing the formidable Uswag Team are the 12 strong candidates for city councilors, namely, re-electionists Miguel Treñas, Romel Duron, Johnny Young, Alan Zaldivar, Rex Sarabia, Frances Grace Parcon-Torres, Rudolph Jeffrey Ganzon, and Sedfrey Cabaluna; neophytes Sheila Olid and Nene Dela Llana; and the come-backing former councilors Lyndon Acap and Mandrie Malabor.

The incumbent councilors — alongside returning councilor candidates – have consistently demonstrated their commitment to the Ilonggos through impactful legislative contributions that have driven the city’s development forward.

Olid, with her extensive legislative experience, is poised to further enhance the city’s governance, having previously worked alongside the late City Councilor Joshua Alim before becoming a lawyer.

Meanwhile, Dela Llana, drawing from his background as a former legislative aide to Vice Mayor Ganzon and as an Executive Assistant to Mayor Treñas for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, is ready to bring valuable insights and expertise to advance the city’s progress once elected./PN
