KAPUSO beauty queen-actress Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez is set to compete in the upcoming 2025 Miss Universe Philippines, representing Muntinlupa.
Winwyn, the 2017 Reina Hispanoamericana, was announced in the official sashing and media launch of Miss Universe Philippines-Muntinlupa held at EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong on February 8.
Winwyn’s cousin and good friend, fellow beauty queen actress, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee was in attendance to show support.
Miss Universe Philippines 2025 will happen in a few months, where reigning beauty queen Chelsea Manalo crowns her successor to represent the country in the prestigious pageant.
It was earlier reported that the Miss Universe 2025 pageant will happen in Thailand, where reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig will crown the next Miss Universe.
Born on May 4, 1992, Winwyn is the daughter of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno.
Now a mother to a two-year-old girl, she has become eligible to compete for the Miss Universe Philippines title after the international organization started allowing candidates who have borne children.
“Miss Universe Organization opened its doors to all women, and I really appreciate that. Of course you can never really please everyone. Not everyone will agree with one thing, and I respect that. But the Miss Universe Organization opened it, and I think it’s time for us to show that we have something to put on the table, to be able to inspire others to do the same,” she said.
In her interview with Yes! Magazine in October 2019, Winwyn said she was inspired to join beauty pageants after Miriam Quiambao got the first runner-up spot in the 1999 Miss Universe pageant. (GMA Network)
