BACOLOD City – The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) rescued a 54-year-old woman who fell into the river beside the Bacolod City Government Center around 11 a.m. yesterday.
Rosie May Pepino was a resident of Barangay Taculing.
According to Peter Sanchez, supervisor of the CDRRMO rescue team, Pepino sustained abrasions and swelling to the body but nevertheless conscious.
They brought her to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center.
Pepino was homebound when she fell into the river.
Sanchez revealed, “manglaktod kuntani sia paagi sa pagtabuk sa suba dira sa may gina-obra nga floodwall.”
He went on: “Naglakad sia sa may drum kag ang nalapakan niya madanlog gane nagdirekta sia padalom pakadto sa suba nga may kaatason nga mga 40 feet.”
The floodwall i an ongoing project of the Department of Public Works and Highways. It is adjacent to the esplanade beside the government center./PN
