BACOLOD City – An 87-year-old woman was tricked into giving two strangers around P90,000 in cash and jewelry, police said.
Visitacion Vazquez told the police the incident happened in a bank at the Shopping area in Barangay Villamonte.
Vazquez, a resident of Barangay Zone 12, Talisay City, initially reported to the Talisay City police station, but Superintendent Adonis Rosales, the police chief, referred her to Police Station 4 here.
She said she just came out from a church on Wednesday when the suspects, one of whom claimed to be her relative, urged her to ride their Starex van as they will accompany her to the bank.
After taking her $1,000 cash and jewelry, the suspects just took off, Vazquez told the police./PN
