ILOILO City – Charged with qualified theft, a woman was served with an arrest warrant on June 9 in Purok 4, Pavia, Iloilo.
The 47-year-old Marites Roquero was arrest at around 9:30 a.m.
The recommended bail bond for her temporary liberty was P40,000.
Under the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines, qualified theft is committed when a domestic servant, or a person who abuses the confidence entrusted to him/her, commits theft.
The crime is also committed when property stolen is a motor vehicle, mail matter, large cattle, or consists of coconuts from the plantation, or fish from a fishpond or fishery, or when the taking of property is done on the occasion of a calamity (fire, earthquake, typhoon, volcanic eruption, etc.), vehicular accident or civil disturbance./PN
