ILOILO City – A 47-year-old woman from Barangay 22, Mandurriao district accused her cousin of mauling her.
Ma. Theresa Retita sustained injuries on various parts of the body, a police report showed.
Her 58-year-old cousin Emilio Capalla III of Block 16, Lot 1, Barangay Santa Rosa, Mandurriao borrowed her electronic bike (e-bike), Retita told the police.
Retita, driving a tricycle, entered Capalla’s compound to retrieve the e-bike at around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
But Capalla got irked and “orally defamed” her, she told the police.
Retita managed to bring her e-bike outside Capalla’s compound but left her tricycle behind.
She returned to the compound to retrieve her tricycle. That was when Capalla attacked her, Retita claimed. Then she sought help from the neighbors.
Capalla returned Retita’s tricycle and locked his gate.
Mandurriao police investigators referred Retita to the Western Visayas Medical Center.
Capalla cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.
