ILOILO City – Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the La Paz Police Station and Maritime Law Enforcement, Anti-Criminality, Public Safety, and Tactical Agency Region 6 arrested a 53-year old woman in a drug buy-bust operation in Rizal Street, Brgy. Rizal, La Paz district here.
Maria Riza Vigonte, a resident of Brgy. Caingin, La Paz, was caught at around 4 p.m. after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P2,500.
The police also recovered one more sachet of suspected shabu weighing around 0.5 gram and valued at around P3,500 from the newly identified drug suspect.
“Napreso ini ang subject person naton sadtong tuig 2015 sa Bataan sa paghupot man sang illegal nga druga, apang nakapiyansa ini siya nakagwa kag nagtinir diri sa Iloilo,” said Police Major Jose Val Ladublan, chief of La Paz Police Station.
The suspect is now in the custody of the La Paz Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Ladublan added that there is an increase in people involved in illegal drugs in the district who are still being monitored by the La Paz police./PN
