Woman dies in motorcycle crash

ANTIQUE – A female driver died after two motorcycles figured in a crash in Barangay Caridad, Culasi town.

The 35-year-old “Jenie,” a resident of the town’s Barangay Buenavista, was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Culasi District Hospital. She sustained fatal body injuries, police said.

According to Police Captain Jomel Salarda of the Culasi Municipal Police Station, the incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. Jenie was driving a motorcycle with her backriders, her children aged 10 and 11 years old.

Salarda said while Jenie was a about to make a turn to refuel they accidentally collided with another motorcycle driven by a 16-year-old boy, who was heading towards the town proper. He was with a 14-year-old backrider.

The four minors sustained injuries and were brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose de Buenavista town.

Salarda added that both drivers were not wearing helmets and did not have driver’s license./PN
