ILOILO – A 59-year-old tricycle passenger died in a road crash in Barangay San Rafael, Miag-ao past 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Ma. Luz Nismal of Barangay Igdulaca, Miag-ao, was crushed beneath the tricycle that flipped over.
“Gasakay siya [Nismal] sa tricycle nga gin akupar niya halin sa ila balay para mangumpra. Papauli na siya kag natabo. Gapadulhog ang tricycle tapos ang motor nga nasugata niya, according man sa driver, daw nag-wild kag gin-occupy ang other lane,” said Lieutenant Lunelyn Talamillo, deputy chief of police of Miag-ao.
Tricycle driver Disfer John Naman, 31, and motorcycle driver Zavier Noquera, 39, both from Miag-ao, sustained minor injuries.
Noquera is currently in the custody of the Miag-ao police.
The victim’s family is determined to press a charge of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide./PN
