BACOLOD City – A woman was hospitalized. She was literally hammered on the head by her former live-in partner in Barangay Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, March 22.
The 45-year-old Argenia Barguin of the city’s Barangay Rizal was brought to the San Carlos City Hospital.
The San Carlos City police identified the suspect as 78-year-old Roberto Gracia, a resident of Barangay Punao.
Police said Barguin, who already broke up with Gracia, went to the latter’s house to get her belongings.
An argument ensued when Barguin supposedly refused to give her former partner a “second chance”; he then attacked her with a hammer, police added.
Gracia was detained at the San Carlos City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004./PN
